Camp Floyd State Park is another popular attraction in Utah County. Reigning as the military post with the largest troop concentration in the United States from 1858 to 1861. There were over 3,000 troops that occupied more than 300 buildings. The troops assigned to Camp Floyd were to suppress an assumed Mormon rebellion. The troops returned East in 1861 for Civil War duty. The only evidence today are a cemetery and commissary building remain.
